swimming 101

tonight was my first swimming class. good times.

i didn't know what to expect. well i am in a class with eight people and four of them are women who are afraid of water and uncomfortable swimming in the shallow end. compared to them - i am an expert. ok maybe not but i am advanced. hopefully next lesson i will move away from the flutter kicks and swimming with various floating devices and onto some strokes.

but i was reminded of something tonight - swimming is harder than it looks and is an incredible cardio workout.

i've spent the last couple of days at western hills lodge near wagoner, ok - for those of you are okies that is south of tulsa. it was a good conference and a good time with co-workers.

and there were also a bizillion deer which leads me to this tidbit of news that i read last week. what is wrong with people?
