today i went and saw "little miss sunshine" - a big happy face from me. i wasn't expecting a big crowd but the theatre was about 75% full and there were a ton of older people which surprised me. i thought it would be more of a younger, indie crowd if you will.
a really old couple sat behind me and the only reason i noticed this was the because the woman could barely climb the stairs. anyway, early in the movie olive is watching a recorded miss america pageant and miss louisiana wins. for about the next 15 minutes the older woman behind me kept randomly saying, "i think I read that miss lousiana won in the paper." i was getting slightly annoyed by it but what can you do - the woman was obviously a little out of sorts. i will also point out that the movie uses the big F word a lot. and this woman also kept saying things like "i've never heard such bad language" or "oh my, i've never seen such a bad movie" and "i can't believe he would say such a thing." after awhile it was kind of endearing. and yes, i could hear my grandma saying something very similiar.
the last couple of weeks i've been thinking about getting a little part-time job on weekends and maybe evenings to help save for our trip in december. and just to add a little cushion to our month to month money flow. so this morning i saw this ad in the daily oklahoman -

i've actually done some demo work when i was much younger and thought that wouldn't be too bad. well, i emailed k. fonda my resume and this was the response i received -

ok, i will preface what i'm about to say with this - i'm not a grammar guru, i like to type in all lowercase, i often spell words incorrectly (mostly because i'm lazy and hate to proof) but seriously when i'm typing a professional email or cover letter or any type of correspondence i try to do a decent job. kent, were you really too lazy to spell out oklahoma city and tuesday. i know we say candidate that way, but come on. and then the topper - a hotel near the airport - i don't think i can do it. is this normal for this type of thing? just curious.
well, i'm off. i need to make some buttons and venture to the grocery store.
