I continue to be fascinated by blogging or at least my own blogging tendencies. You see, my blog is a clear indicator of what’s going on in my life. For example, for the last couple of weeks I’ve been somewhat frustrated. Frustrated over things that I can’t change, things that don’t have right or wrong answer, things that really don’t warrant conversation and therefore, I’ve been somewhat checked out of my life. Much like my blog, which has been random fluffly stuff for the last couple of weeks. The funny thing is I don’t feel drawn to blog but I feel guilty for not updating it. So I find some interesting tidbits to add.
And I’m fascinated by this. Why, I don’t know. It seems somewhat simple but yet I continue to be intrigued by the act of blogging and the many forms of communication that occur online. I want to study it – maybe in one of my next careers.
Anyway, I decided to see what I could find and I really didn’t find anything meaty – I wanted something about the emotional or societal implications but nothing that interesting. But I did find this and it’s fairly interesting.

Blogging is bringing new voices to the online world.
Telephone surveys capture the most accurate snapshot possible of a small and moving target.
Contrary to the impression created by the press attention on political blogging, just 11% of bloggers say they focus mainly on government or politics.
The blogging population is young, evenly split between women and men, and racially diverse.
Relatively small groups of bloggers view blogging as a public endeavor.
The main reasons for keeping a blog are creative expression and sharing personal experiences.
Only one-third of bloggers see blogging as a form of journalism. Yet many check facts and cite original sources.
Bloggers are avid consumers and creators of online content. They are also heavy users of the internet in general.
Bloggers are major consumers of political news and about half prefer sources without a particular political viewpoint.
Bloggers often utilize community and readership-enhancing features available on their blogs.

And to help myself get out of my funk, I'm forcing myself to post some "real" life stuff.
1. My last swim class is tonight.
2. I hate coming up with the title for my blogs so for now I'm going to use what Nola is playing at the time. For example, if I were writing a title it would be "Your House" by Jimmy Eat World.
3. I think A and I are going to sign-up for the half-marathon again. I am insane. Or maybe she is insane because I am a whinny baby.
4. My big ole publication for work is at the printer - woo-hoo. And I'm really happy with it.
5. Talledega Nights made me laugh. And I didn't expect too.
6. My drawing class starts on the 21st and I've paid my tuition. I need to go to the bookstore and get my parking permit. I'm actually a little bit giddy about going back to real school.
7. I went to the gym at lunch today.
8. I bought some Patsy Cline off of itunes.
9. I've become a "Hell's Kitchen" addict.
