i heard the happiest news this week - next week is spring break and i don't have class. granted it's only one night of no class but i'm excited. ahhh...nothing like a nice unplanned day out of school.
also on friday i started the process to go see a specialist about my hemochromatosis. a process indeed - i need a referal so i had to ask my diagnosing physician which meant i had to leave a message for the nurse, wait for the nurse to call, explain to the nurse, wait for the nurse to call, be confused by the nurse, call the specialist, wait for the specialist's office to call and on and on. on monday i faxed a letter to my doctor's office with my specific requests hoping that would simplify the process. and today i got a call from a super nice lady at the hemotology office saying she had spoken the nurse and my primary doctor's office would get my info to them soon. so now i just need to wait for the records to be sent and then i can set up an appointment. gimminy. but something is happening and many of you know that this has been a very stressful thing for me. to see specialist. to not. do i trust my family doctor. sigh. but i'm feeling pretty good about things.
in the meantime, i'm curious how long it will take to get an appointment with the specialist and what should i do about my treatment until then. honestly, i want to keep my blood for awhile.
and i just wanted to pass this on - i love archer farms. since e has started working at target, i have become addicted to a few of their items. those being - cinnamon vanilla nut coffee, organic fruit strips and organic blueberry almond oatmeal. mmm. mmm. good. also, target has the best popcorn at their little food counter. a buck will get you fresh popcorn and a drink. apparently they have pb&j sandwiches too but i'm not sure about those. e is a fan but then again he is a fan of a lot of things.
oh and finally - i survived my class tonight. i think my professor liked my painting - she said it was my best work so far. i think i'm just going to have to settle into the idea of having some basic rules but really doing what i want to do. and not worrying about the rest because i think that's the only way i'm going to survive this.
